Reel Power Oil & Gas Completes Milestone, 20,000lbs Testing of Catahead (Patented Pending) and LARS Platform

rov launch and recovery

Radoil power desert & DBA gas has just finished the main milestone in the patented testing unit drive for our launch platform and recovery system (LARS). After years of development, design, and testing, design engineers and Catuhead Reel Power technicians have successfully completed function testing at 20,000lbs. The next and final step in the Catuhead Evolution Design is to complete the life cycle testing of the ongoing durability at the Houston Facility, our TX located in West Rd & Beltway 8.

The CataAhead drive is empowered specifically designed for the Power rov launch and recovery reel system but can be installed on the Lars platform with minor modification. The Catahead drive eliminates the need for a large heavy duty winch system. Whether you lift a smaller component of ROV, Uta, or Subsea, Catahead is designed to adjust for heavy differential without the need to adjust tension and eliminate the possibility of a lift cable failure because of the knife.

The Catajead system is designed for:

·       Lower operating costs

·       Rewind Cable On-Board Ship, No Need to Return Winch to Shore

·       A total weight of 10-20%

·       Facilitate care needs

·       Give a smaller Lars trail

·       Free main deck - Position rolls on sub-decks or other locations

·       Catahead can handle other deployment operations - eliminate additional equipment

The Reel Power OG Patented Catahead Style rov launch and recovery (LARS) System transfers lifting power to a dual failsafe tractor curve mounted on the mast and is supplemented by failsafe double wedge slips that act as parking brakes and/or emergency stop brakes. Because of the relatively small catahead located on the mast, large heavy-duty winches are not required.

Catahead (patented) mounted on the extendable Mast/Boom, Latch & Rotate Module, Failsafe Parking & Emergency Stop Brake (patented), ROV Cable Reel (several patents), and Hydraulic Power unit comprise the entire ROV system. The Catahead with Mast/Boom, Umbilical Reel or IWOCS reel, Hydraulic Power unit, Downline Winch, and Subsea Control module are typical LARS for well intervention.
